1. American Idol

American Idol is a reality show that has a quest for the Best Singing ability in America. It made first public appearance in 2002, and was named as American Idol: Probing for a Superstar, it is a reciprocally active faculty show. American Idol has been rated number 1 in recognition which can be estimated from the quantity of votes of the competitors obtained via SMS and phone calls. It has been played for a large period and has continuous popularity till now. Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul are adjudicators of the show.





2. True Blood

True Blood is originated from The Southern Vampire Mysteries series of novels. It is based on mutual survival of Vampires and Humans, in a town called Bon Temps. True Blood concerns with Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress who loves a vampire, Bill Compton. It is now being running its third season.




3. Grey’s Anatomy

Grey’s Anatomy is a Medical Drama. It depicts the life of interns, residing doctors and their advisers at Seattle Grace-Mercy West Hospital. Its first performance was made in 2005, and the 7th in 2010. Its first event was viewed by 16.5 million people. It has secured Emmys and Golden Globes. The actors of Grey’s Anatomy show are culturally different and indicate feelings that people observe in tough surroundings like a hospital.





4. 24

It is concerned with federal agent Jack Bauer. Each episode demonstrates one hour in the day of Agent Bauer. 24 was shown first in 2001, with Bauer as a part of Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), and the story is like a political adventure. In its several episodes, Bauer is endeavoring to undo terrorist intrigues, nuclear, biological dangers, and cyber assaults. This TV series has secured many awards for the longest shows on television.




5. House

The show, also named as House M.D is a medical Drama which was first performed in 2004. House moves around Dr. Gregory House, who is leader of group of doctors of diagnosis at the Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. Dr. House often disagrees with his boss, the hospital administrator and Dean of Medicine, over reasoning. House is significantly admired, and is viewed in more than 66 countries. It has secured People’s Choice Award, a Peabody Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and four Primetime Emmy Awards.




6. Desperate Housewives

Produced by ABC Studios and Cherry Productions, Desperate Housewives is put in the neighborhood of Wisteria Lane, in the town of Fairview in the Eagle State. It pursues the actions of a cluster of neighboring women of their endeavors for family, and keeping secrets simultaneously, with perfect appearance of life. With its first performance in 2004, Desperate Housewives has won Emmys, Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards. It has been immensely admired by audience of 120 million worldwide.


7. Dexter

Dexter is based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. The show depicts the life of Dexter Morgan, who is brought up by Miami Police officer Harry Morgan. Knowing that Dexter has an aggressive character, Harry wants to use his negative power positively. Dexter is trained to kill the assassins who deserve death before they kill others. Harry reveals Dexter ‘The Code’ where he can cover his paths. Dexter also works as a blood splatter analyst with the Miami police.




8. Prison Break

Making its debut in 2005, Prison Break is concerning with two brothers. One is imprisoned for a crime that he did not perpetrate and the other plans to help his brother for escape. The series was compiled by Adelstein-Parouse Productions and 20th Century Fox. It was immensely admired and has won the People’s choice award, Best Drama Series and Golden Globe award. All the four seasons of Prison Break have been produced on DVD.



9. Lost

It was shown from 2004 to 2010, depicting the lives of people survived after a plane crash and trapped on a strange island in the south Pacific, as well as some other stories in their lives. The series came to an end in 2010. Lost was made by ABC Studios, Bad Robot Productions and Grass Skirt Productions. It had 15 million viewers per episode.



10. Heroes

It is TV series of science fiction fantasy about ordinary people who realize that they have exceptional qualities. The producer uses short stories with many different events. Produced by Tailwind Production and Universal media studios, Heroes is filmed in the city of Los Angeles and has completed 4 seasons till this date. The first season had 14.3 million on-lookers and since then its popularity has been leaping forward. It has won the Emmy, Golden Globe and People’s Choice awards.
