6 Rumors For 8 iPhone 5 | iPhone

If we could only get our hands on a pre-release version of the iPhone 6… yeah, we’ll keep on dreaming.

For now here are features and info we think will be making the cut when the thing finally hits the stores.

Fingerprint unlock

A fingerprint sensor has been rumored to appear on iPhones for a while now, but this time it looks like that might actually happen. That is, if we are to believe this photo from the iOS 7 beta code. The snippet references a setup process in which a user presses a finger on the home button, with the fingerprint then changing color on the screen, probably to indicate if the user is recognized or not. Fingerprint technology has a lot of potential, for example to quickly access the iTunes store instead of typing in a password.

September Release Date

Analysts have been pretty uniform in their predictions that a new iPhone is coming in September. Then again, it could be the iPhone 5s, the security minded brother to the iPhone 5. Or it could be we’ll be seeing both the 5s and the iPhone 6 in September. Either way, a busy month.

Improved camera

Apple has been upgrading the iPhone’s camera steadily with each new release. You can count on them doing that again, with a rumored 12-megapixel rear side camera sensor

Mogul

The mogul feature on the new iPhone should allow capturing video at a recording rate of up to 120 frames-per-second. Professional movies have already been films, in part, on an iPhone and this feature will take video to a whole new level, including the ability to do some pro level slow motion effects.

Waterproof

Waterproofing is already available through aftermarket add-ons but apple may make it a standard feature.

Polycarbonate casing

The new polycarbonate shell appears to have a flat back with the volume rocker split into two

Multiple colors

Finally giving consumers some extra choice, the new iPhone should be available in five different colors (red, green, yellow, blue and white).

You Need To Know 1 IPhone With 2 SIM Cards

here are some of us who have more than one phones to our name. One could be for work, assigned by the company we work for, and the other for our personal use, to keep track of family and friends. It’s a bit of a hassle to be carrying two phones around. The margin for error increases when you are travelling.

If however you hold an iPhone, here’s where you can use two lines in one iPhone. The SIM+, is developed by Sumchi & TJ from Digirit, and it lets you carry two SIM cards in the same iPhone.

It actually comes in as a protective casing for your iPhone 5 but with an extension that allows you to switch between two SIM cards in your iPhone.

The casing that covers the side and back part of the iPhone is made out of plastic while a layer of anodized finish aluminum covers the SIM cards portion, protecting it from external harm.

You can insert a nano SIM card in the first slot and a micro SIM card on the second slot. If you want to insert two nano SIM cards instead, this is possible as The SIM+ comes with a nano-to-micro adapter.

It takes around 45 to 60 seconds for your iPhone to detect and receive reception when you first insert the SIM cards.

Now, here is how it works. You can’t receive incoming messages or calls from both SIM cards simultaneously. A timed interval option is built into the system to let you switch between the two cards.

The SIM+ will alternate in between SIM cards to check for messages/calls.

For now, The SIM+ is only available for iPhone 5. The creator require pledges for $30,000 for the production of The SIM+, and as of right now it has up to $2400 by 39 backers. By pledging The SIM+for $52 now, you’ll received one set of The SIM+ around May 2013, if this project gets funded through.

Easy To Set IPhone On Silent Mode Except For Selected Group

There are times we find ourselves in situations that we need to keep our phone in Silent Mode, for example in a meeting, a seminar or an important event. But there are calls that cannot be missed: the call to get to the hospital because your wife is in labor, the call from your kids who are studying in a different time zone or any calls from Mom.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could keep your iPhone on silent but have it ring only for selected individuals or a special group?

You can set this up with iOS6, under the Do Not Disturb feature. You will first need to create a group of people who can get to you regardless of your phone being on Silent Mode. Here’s how.

1. Create A Group In Contacts

To allow calls from only selected groups, first you need to create a group in your contact book. The group will consist of only the contacts that you want to allow calls from. For now, the easiest way to create a group is to create it on iCloud.

To start, browse over to iCloud and click on ‘Contacts’.

On the top part of your contact book you’ll notice a red ribbon. Click on it.

You will see your contacts on the right hand side and your groups on the left side. Click on the ‘+’ symbol at the bottom of the left page to create a group.

Name the group. In this example, we will use ‘Family’. After naming it click back to the ‘All contacts’ page.

To add contacts into your group, just select the contacts (press Ctrl for multiple selections) and drag it into the group you just created.

You can click on ‘Family’ group just to double check if all of your contacts are already in the group.

2. Customize Notifications Settings

Now on your iPhone, go to your Contact book and refresh it, just to ensure that your newly created group is in your iPhone.

Then, tap on Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb.

On the ‘Do Not Disturb’ page, tap on ‘Allow Calls From’ and choose the group you want notifications to come in for, regardless of the Silent Mode being on.

Note that you can only set to allow calls from only one group. That means if you have two groups that you want to let ring even in silent mode, you will have to pick only one, or group both of them together.

There is actually another alternative. You can put individual contacts under the ‘Favorites’ category, simply tap on the contact and select ‘Add to Favorites’. Then set ‘Allow Calls From’ to ‘Favorites’.

3. Activate ‘Do Not Disturb’

To activate this mode, go to the ‘Settings’ page, and turn ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature ON. Your phone goes straight into Silent Mode and will only allow the group you’ve selected to get through to you.

Easy 10 tips apps To Recover A Lost Or Stolen IPhone

Back in the days when you lose the standard mobile phone, the loss is limited to just the hardware. The new owner would probably just remove your SIM card and put in his or her own and no one would be the wiser. But with smartphones, this situation presents a larger set of problems.

For starters, you will lose all your precious data: music, photos, apps and contacts. Getting a new phone would mean you have to start recollecting all these items from scratch. If hearing that gives you a headache, let me remind you that the person who has located your iPhone will also have access to all your online accounts: social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, personal emails — and if you are one of the many people who do their banking online, better change those passwords quick. In any case, identity theft has been made easier these days since your smartphone now carries your online identity.

While it is almost impossible to prevent you from dropping or misplacing your iPhone, it is possible to reduce the effects (and pain) of losing your iPhone and the contents within forever. Here are 10 useful apps (3 of them with step-by-step guides on how to use them) which can help you turn the tables in the event of your iPhone going MIA.
